    Starting a new Localization

Step 1: Get a PO Editor.

On windows, you can download and install POEdit.

Step 2: Start a new PO File

Find the WeSay.pot file where you installed WeSay, under the "common" folder.

    Step 3: Translate

Translate the strings (it's ok to just translate a few to get started).

    Step 4: Save

Save the file either in the same common file or in the same directory as your

    WeSayConfig file. For example,

    Step 5: Try it out

Run the WeSay Configuration program and choose your new ui language. If needed, set the font as well:

    Step 6: Share your work

Please send us your po file. We'll include it in the next release of WeSay so others can benefit.

    Updating a localization file

When a new version of WeSay includes new strings, someone must add those new translations to the po file for a language. Here's how to do it:

    Step 1: Open

Using PoEdit, open your existing po file.

    Step 2: Update

Choose "Catalog:Update from POT file..." and direct the dialog box to the WeSay.pot file as before.

    Step 3: Translate

Translate any new strings, and send us the updated file so it can be distributed to others.
